Girls on the Run is a youth development program for girls in 3rd-8th grade. They are looking for folks in Point Breeze who would be willing to work with them to host their program at a park or open space in our neighborhood. Teams of up to 12 girls will meet with trained coaches twice/week for our 8-week spring season (starting the week of March 15). The program builds social-emotional life skills through physical activity. Their mission is to inspire girls to be joyful, hea...lthy, and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running. What a day! Very proud to be part of this moment. We are thrilled to welcome our new neighbors to their permanently affordable homes. Our President Albert Littlepage reminded us to be a rainbow in someone else's cloud during his speech. This victory is certainly a big bright rainbow that will honor the legacy of one of Point Breeze's finest - Mamie Nichols.
