Today is National Pet Heat Awareness Day. Each year first responders and humane agencies respond to thousands of animals in distress due to heat stroke and exhaustion. Don't let your pet be a victim. Below is information on how to keep your pets safe. If you believe your pet is suffering from heat stroke, immediately get them moved to a cool or shaded area, offer them cool, not cold, water to drink but never force them to drink. Apply cool damp towels to their back and seek veterinary care immediately by getting them to the closest PET ER.
