Greene Dreher Historical Society

Our annual clean-up of our historic cemeteries is this coming Saturday, May 15, beginning at 9 AM at Peggy Bancroft Hall. Volunteers are always welcome as we like to have our cemeteries looking their very best for Memorial Day weekend. The society also needs an "adopter" for one of our historic cemeteries. Greene-Dreher Historical Society is officially back! Our first program, a Tour of Historic Ledgedale, was truly appreciated by attendees. It seems we were missed in the last year. Below are some photos from the three sites visited: The Goose Pond Scout Reservation, Lacawac Sanctuary, and St. Mary's Church and Cemetery. The Society is presenting three more programs in May and June that will be outdoors in order to protect the safety of our members and guests. As always our presentations are free and open to the public. The Greene-Dreher Historical Society will bring their scheduled programs to the public in a safe outdoor venue this summer. Join us at the outdoor amphitheater at Promised Land State Park.

Survey says... The Greene-Dreher Historical Society is trying to put together the pieces after 2020. We hope that our members' survey will help us fulfill our mission of protecting local history and bringing that history to you in the best possible way. As indicated in the newsletter, members who have provided their email addresses for our use will receive a link to the survey starting tomorrow, January 15.
