Today is election day, and it brings up a variety of thoughts and feelings for each of us. Here are some strategies to help you get through this time: - Practice kindness, acceptance, and show love to one another. - Take time to pray or meditate.... - Focus on what you have control over - your thoughts, emotions, and reactions. - Take a break from the news and social media. Regardless of the outcome of today’s election, be respectful and empathetic. If it doesn't go the way you hope, and you need to cry, then cry; but don't remain here. Move on to a healthier, better place. How? Look for positives, practice gratitude, and work on letting go and acceptance.

Meet Kristie and Matt, two of Penn Foundation’s Peer Specialists. Their journeys to become Peer Specialists began when they themselves were clients at Penn Foundation and experienced the benefits of Peer Support. Peer Support is a unique program that partners Certified Peer Specialists, who have lived experience with mental health and/or addiction issues, with individuals who are currently receiving treatment. A CPS uses their own lived experience to help individuals with things like housing, finding a job, community involvement and self-advocacy. Kristie and Matt felt compelled to give back to the community that was a part of their healing journey. Thank you to Kristie and Matt for openly sharing their stories to help others find hope! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5J8FO-soCwg&t=58s
