Fadia Kamal, a researcher from the Center for Orthopaedic Research and Translational Science found that a common anti-depressant may be able to slow cartilage breakdown and promote cartilage regeneration. The team is currently seeking approval from the FDA for a new trial of this drug to treat osteoarthritis, a disease affecting more than 30 million adults.
