Let's try something new in March!

New and returning 4-H members are welcome to join this club! This project is for any youth who are 8-18 years old as of January 1st, 2022, and interested in learning about dairy cattle. Owning your own cattle is not required. For directions call club leader, Eileen Warburton at 570-419-2565.

This week, we're highlight...ing George Washington Carver, a pioneer in agricultural science! Carver developed a new method for crop rotation that restored essential nutrients like nitrogen to depleted soil. Registration for Traveling Circus 4-H Camp Brule (the one day experience at the Sullivan County Fairgrounds) will close on Friday, May 21st! To enroll in 4-H and register for camp visit https://4h.zsuite.org/. Youth attending must be enrolled in Sullivan County 4-H prior to being able to register for camp in Zsuite under "Events." Members will receive a camp t-shirt, attend workshops, and enjoy a day of camp fun. The cost of camp is $25.00 and the Lycoming County United Way 4-H Activities grant will scholarship the full amount for every Sullivan County 4-H member. That means this camp is FREE for our 4-H members to attend. *Sign up using a computer vice your phone.

We are ready to have an in-person meeting!! Our first meeting is this Friday (tomorrow!) at 6:30pm at the Extension Office in Dushore. It will be held outside u...nder the pavilion. Please bring something to write with and to write on, dress warm, and we will be discussing what we will do this year and all the technical sign-up stuff, so please have an adult guardian with each youth. After that we will review some horse info, play some games and make some horse treats! Should last about an hour. So far I have Savannah Ely, Katherine Conner, Taylor Durland, Bethany Eberlin and Quinn Pennella signed up. If you know anyone who wants to join, invite them along, there will be 2 meetings in June, 2 in July, and one in August this year. Daisy will be attending those 5! Horse ownership is not required, youth must be signed up by June 1, ages are 5-18 as of January 1st, see you tomorrow!! See more

Registration ends Thursday! Get ready for the virtual 4-H Cooking Challenge! Junior and Senior individuals and Junior and Senior Sibling teams are invited to sh...ow off their cooking skills in this at home virtual challenge! The individual or sibling group must apply their creativity, knowledge of nutrition, food preparation, food safety, and leadership skills to prepare a recipe using a secret ingredient and ingredients in their food pantry then make a presentation about the prepared dish to a panel of judges. The presentation should include information about the nutritional value, serving size, food preparation skills and decision making used to prepare the recipe and plate the food.
