On May 19th, PENNVEST settled on a funding package for Girard Township in Erie County. The second phase of the Westgate Drive storm sewer improvements was processed through the Small Projects Initiative, which allows borrowers to advance projects quickly because of an accelerated settlement and application process. Westgate Drive residents will benefit from this infrastructure improvement and the quick processing of the funding package.

Recently, state and local officials gathered to kick off the construction of the Indiana County Municipal Services Authority (ICMSA) water project to provide water service to Marion Center and outlying areas, including Marion Center’s High School. This project received a grant in the amount of $10,775,000 and a loan in the amount of $1,460,420.

Check out last week's final inspection of the PA American Water combined sewer overflow project. This project constructed a variety of improvements to prevent overflows of untreated sewage during storm events into the Lackawanna River, including a 1.2 million gallon storage tank built into the embankment of the river. Staff of PA American Water Company are shown with their vehicle on top of the tank. PENNVEST provided $9,095,489 in low-interest loan funding for this project.

Blacklick Valley Municipal Authority’s PENNVEST project is nearing completion. The project added approximately 60,000 feet of sewer line, two pump stations, and Wastewater Treatment plant upgrades to serve 187 customers in Blacklick Township who were utilizing on-lot disposal systems. This project was funded with a grant and loan at the board’s October 2018 meeting.
