Residential solicitation is regulated by ordinance in Peters Township. Persons who go to private homes for business or commercial purposes are required to have a permit issued by the Peters Township Police Department. If someone shows up at your door and is unable to present you with both a valid permit AND a valid photo ID, please call 911 so patrol officers can investigate immediately. Even if they do have correct credentials, don't hesitate to call if they employee "hard s...ell" tactics or just seem to be overly aggressive. Remember, you can always post your residence - "No Solicitation" - if you want to avoid the chance of someone dropping by unexpectedly. Postings should be in a conspicuous place by a walkway or at the front door. Keep in mind that the placing of door hangers is NOT considered solicitation by the ordinance. Sales persons must attempt to make or actually make contact for actions to be considered solicitation. PLEASE LIKE & SHARE TO MAKE YOUR NEIGHBORS AWARE!
