Thank you to Lower Providence Fire Department for sending a crew with Pipeline 53 to Phoenixville today. Their crew helped cover the area in case there were any additional emergencies while local fire companies were operating at the house fire in Schuylkill Township. In Montgomery County, a 'Pipeline' is a pumper which carries a minimum of 2000' of 5" supply hose. Pipeline 53 is part of the Western Montgomery County Large Diameter Hose (LDH) Strike Team. This capability is to essentially create a temporary water pipeline when the water source is an extended distance from a fire. While this is an added capability of this unit, it still functions as a pumper.

Yikes! Somebody must have a little dent on their vehicle?! This is how we found the hydrant in front of the firehouse this morning. We temporarily placed the hydrant in our yard so that pups in the neighborhood still have access to it.. If anyone has information on this hit & run, please contact Phoenixville Police via the non-emergency dispatch line, (610) 935-2440.

Please remember to SLOW DOWN & MOVE OVER when passing a stopped emergency or maintenance vehicle. On a two-lane road, slow down or stop as necessary, proceed around the emergency vehicle as safely as possible for everyone. If there are multiple lanes for the direction you are heading, move over to a lane farther away from the stopped vehicles. Each day, firefighters, EMS workers, police officers, fire police, tow truck operators and others respond on our roadways to assist ot...hers. Each day, two of these individuals across the U.S. are struck and killed by a vehicle. #SlowDownMoveOver National Move Over Day -with NHTSA

Engine 65-3 has been retired from the PFD and is on it's way to a fire department in the Country of Chile. She was driven away Sunday and has arrived at the Port of Baltimore on her journey to a new home. It is not uncommon for older fire apparatus and construction/industrial equipment to find a new lease on life in Central and South America. This 1996 pumper was placed in service for the PFD in January of 2014. Originally, designed along with a twin pumper for the Wise Aven...ue Volunteer Fire Company of Baltimore County, MD, she also served the Needmore Volunteer Fire Company of Fulton County, PA. This pumper will be replaced with a new pumper-rescue. Delivery of this new unit is expected in early 2021. ¡Deseamos a los bomberos de Chile mucha suerte con su nuevo camión de bomberos!
