Philadelphia has an estimated 18.6% uninsured rate and a 24.5% poverty rate. Nonprofits like Pharmacy Wellness Group need donations from people like you, who care as much as we do, about providing necessary life sustaining medications to the uninsured and underinsured. The mission of the Pharmacy Wellness Group (PWG) is to provide state of the art pharmacy and prescription services to patients of non-profit organizations, irrespective of their insurance status or ability to pay. Pharmacy Wellness Group (PWG) aims to do so by providing the underprivileged in our community with life-saving medications people would otherwise go without due to lack of funds. We also provide necessary medications for patients awaiting insurance activation or for those that fall through the gaps in our healthcare system. Because we know that there are so many gaps in the healthcare system due to social injustice, Pharmacy Wellness Group is always looking for new non-profits to partner with to combat them and provide medication to people who need it! Larger qualified non-profit organizations will have the opportunity to partner with PWG to create an in-house pharmacy for their clients, created and operated by PWG at no cost to the partner organization. Smaller non-profit organizations may utilize the PWG central-fill base (pending approval) or one of our several community pharmacy partners. The extremely high cost of prescription drugs is a problem that requires the attention of the entire healthcare community as well as state and federal government. But just because pharmacists cannot solve the entire problem ourselves does not mean that we won't use every resource at our disposal to do what we can. Our passion and purpose at Pharmacy Wellness Group is to combat social injustice related gaps in healthcare care and serve our community by providing access to life-saving medications to people would otherwise go without due to lack of funds. Our state of the art pharmacy and prescription services are available to patients of non-profit organizations, irrespective of their insurance status or ability to pay. Pharmacy Wellness Group (PWG) is a first of its kind non-profit pharmacy organization that provides pharmacy and prescription services to patients of other non-profit organizations for little to no cost. PWG combats social injustice related gaps in care by addressing the unique needs and circumstances of each individual. Those gaps in care have become even wider due to the COVID-19 pandemic, so we are also doing everything we can to help people in the Philadelphia area stay safe and healthy.
