Due to the recent increase in coronavirus cases, and the newly updated public health guidelines set in place by the City’s Health Department, The First Judicial District has decided to suspend jury trials until January 21, 2021. If you received a juror summons, prior to January 21, you do not have to report as scheduled, and you will be given credit for at least one year. Note: This does not include grand jury selection scheduled for January 14, 2021 at the Convention Center.... JUROR NOTICE The health and safety of court users and court employees remain an ongoing concern. Please know the following: 1. The FJD Trial Division is followi...ng the state and federal guidelines encouraging social distancing. First, fewer jurors will be called starting March 16, 2020. The large jury assembly rooms allow jurors to keep a distance from one another. Exceeding the city’s recommendation, no more than 200 jurors shall occupy the jury assembly rooms in either the Stout Center or City Hall until further notice. 2. The courts have increased the sanitizing efforts at these facilities. Surface areas in the jury room and court rooms will be sanitized once a day or more. 3. If you are exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms as described in the CDC Guidelines, call 215-683-7170, between the hours 8:30-3:30 to request a postponement and follow up with your employer as necessary.
