Calling all college and university students, The 2021 Edmund N. Bacon Urban Design Awards - Student Competition is now open! The submission period is August 1, 2020 until November 20, 2020. This multi-disciplined competition encourages collaboration between all facets of design. The most successful teams are diverse teams which include individuals from a variety of fields: architecture, urban planning, design (industrial, graphic, etc.), landscape architecture, public health, economic development, environmental science, real estate law, business, or other fields which might bring innovative ideas to your proposal. On behalf of the Center for Architecture and Design Board and greater architectural community, we are sad to share the news of John Claypool’s passing. John Paul Claypool, 72, husband, father, brother and dear friend died in late June 2020 from complications due to pneumonia. John was born in Pittsburgh, PA in 1947 and moved to Corry, PA in 10th grade where he met his best friend and wife Cheryl (Sherry) Beckerink.
