We love to support local LGBTQ+ artists whenever we can, so we were delighted to commission this logo from graphic artist Beth A. Johnston. The design beautifully evokes both a sound waveform and a city skyline, and of course Philadelphia’s rainbow flag with black and brown stripes, showing our pride and recognizing the importance of intersectionality and racial justice. This is who we are.

This week marks the 20th anniversary of the Transgender Pride Flag. Designed by Monica Helms, a transgender woman activist in 1999. I say the rainbow flag is like the American flag: everybody’s underneath that, but each group, like each state, has their own individual flag.
