We learned today from a customer that she could order our food from the GrubHub site. She was upset that part of her order was canceled and she only received some items. She only found out when her food was delivered and she now needs to wait 5-7 days for a refund for the food that we don't actually have on our menu because GrubHub took her payment directly. We couldn't figure out how we possibly received any part of an order from GrubHub because we have no online ordering sy...stem. We contacted GrubHub and learned that they have a program that allows their customers to order from any resturant on GrubHub, even if that restaurant has not agreed to be part of the program. Once you place your order, a GrubHub employee calls the restaurant and impersonates you placing an order. They give us your name for the order and say they will pay at pick-up. They don't tell us it's a GrubHub order. When they pick up the food they say that they are you and then pay with a credit card provided by GrubHub. This infuriates us. We are just a small business trying to make ends meet during a crisis. It's hard enough without these big tech companies trying to profit off of us without our knowledge and ruining our relationships with our customers. GrubHub does not have our correct menu on their site and we are waiting for them to take it down and completely remove our information. They told us that ordering from The Phoenix Tavern through their site should no longer be possible and we hope that's true. Please do not order our food from GrubHub or any other gig site! We aren't affiliated with any online ordering/delivery service. If you notice our menu or an option to order online fom us on one of these sites, please send us a message and let us know so we can take care of it.
