Your old gear can give a child a new chance to play ball! Your donations help us fulfill equipment grants to communities in need, ensuring that kids do not miss out on the chance to play due to high equipment costs. As a thank you, if you donate by Nov. 30th you’re entered to win a Wilson Baseball / Softball A2000 and more!
Due to COVID-19, Wilkes-Barre City Little League did not allow the sharing of equipment this year. With an equipment grant from PIFBS, they were able to provide each player who needed it with their own bat and catchers equipment. It also allowed them to save resources by not having to purchase equipment or baseballs.
Inspiring article from The Augusta Chronicle on the softball team at T. W. Josey High School, who qualified for the state playoffs for the first time since joining the GHSA 53 years ago. The program received an equipment grant from PIFBS in 2018, and we’re excited to see how far the program has come! https://www.augustachronicle.com//josey-softball-makes-his
Mauricio Dubon of the San Francisco Giants on the lack of baseball equipment for kids in Honduras: It was extremely hard. I remember we had like two helmets for a whole baseball team and we had to share. So right now the main goal is equipping those kids - their own helmet, their own bats - so they can go out there and have some fun. Watch the full interview: https://youtu.be/BWy1y0bS3nI
Meet our newest staff member! Jonathan joined the team as Director of Development in September. He grew up in Berks County and was a member of the PA Independent School State Championship baseball team at The Hill School in 1999. He’s also a drummer, baseball enthusiast, and lifelong Phillies fan.
We want to give a big shoutout to the Ruthless Peralta softball team in Nevada, who collected some great softball gear for us to help kids play ball! The team wanted to give other kids the chance play ball without having to worry about equipment. They ran a collection drive over the summer and dropped off the gear at our LA warehouse in October. Awesome work!!
Sports often help children cope during challenging times. We want to ensure that equipment costs are never a barrier to participate. You can help kids play ball by donating your gently-used gear, or even just $15, and as a thank you, you’ll be entered to win a Jean Segura autographed ball, Wilson glove and more. https://pifbs.org/media/fall-equipment-drive-donate-to-win/

Happy Halloween!
Union City Little League had to cut its program short this year due to COVID-19 guidelines, and also didn’t have the chance to do any fundraisers to support the teams. An equipment grant funded by the Pittsburgh Pirates and TULL Foundation helped give the players each their own batting helmet to use, and new catchers gear that allowed them to have two catchers. Without having to buy new equipment, the league was able to invest in keeping the field safe and playable for the kids during the shortened season.
Throwback to our 2019 International Projects Map, reaching 25 countries across the globe! https://pifbs.org/international-projects/
Parkview Arts & Science Magnet High School's team was helped by an equipment grant earlier this year, and went 4-1 before the season was forced to halt due to COVID-19. The new equipment helped drive engagement and motivation for the students both on and off the field. The team even gave back to the community in Little Rock by doing community service together.
It’s not too late to donate for a chance to win a Philadelphia Phillies Jean Segura autographed baseball! Plus, you’d be helping more kids experience the joy and life lessons that baseball and softball can provide. Through the end of November, donate any usable gear or even just $15 and you’re entered to win https://pifbs.org/media/fall-equipment-drive-donate-to-win/
