This is one of our local homebirth midwives.
This is a non-profit that I founded to help the families that aren’t bringing their baby home. Please consider donating today.
I like this idea!
As of yesterday Nov 16th, The PA Department of Health joins the conversation and strongly encourages hospitals allow for the presence of a doula in addition to... a patient’s support person!!! Spread this far and wide, print it, take it to your OB office, talk to your colleagues, tell your hospital’s patient experience department. Covid is here to stay, your birth only happens once, doulas make a huge difference. Demand the changes, keep having the conversations. So far TMC, UPMC and AHN are allowing doulas in addition to another support person- thus following CDC and PA Health Dept guidelines. Doulas are evidence-based and essential to reducing interventions and producing better outcomes for baby and parents. Where we need help for doula advocacy- - St Clair Hospital - Sewickley Hospital (until they stop providing birth services) -Places that currently allow doulas need to know you appreciate and want doulas to continue to be allowed https://www.health.pa.gov//Pages/Gu/Hospital-Guidance.aspx
Shared- Last week to register for prenatal and postpartum yoga circles- we start next weekend (nov 22) for 8-week series. Scholarships and sliding scale pricing ($150-250) available. Please help me spread the word to your clients, or others who might benefit from extra physical and emotional support.
