Good evening everyone. Please share this post to help us spread the word: We received an important message this evening from Jeremiah Park, bishop of the Susquehanna conference of the United Methodist church. In his message, Bishop Park is advising churches in his conference to cease in-person worship as well as in-church gatherings of any kind through the end of the calendar year. Here is an excerpt of his message: ... "My sisters and brothers in faith, I know this is very difficult to hear. I know that not everyone wants to pause in-person worship, especially during Advent. Calls for a temporary break from public gatherings may feel like a threat to our religious freedom. But now we must put our preferences aside and do what is best for our faith communities and the larger communities in which we live. We must work together to stop the spread of this disease. We must do all that we can to make sure that more people do not fall victim to COVID. I firmly believe this is our calling, for such a time as this." Based on this guidance, the Pleasant Gap UMC will NOT hold in-person services beginning this coming Sunday, December 6. We will continue in the fashion until further notice. Services will be broadcast on Facebook live at 9:30 AM and will then also be available for viewing on our Facebook page. The full text of Bishop Park's message, can be read by following the link listed in the comments portion of this post. Please continue to be in prayer for everyone who has been or will be impacted by the ongoing COVID health crisis. We are grateful to our health care and other front line workers and we continue to pray for continued protection during these difficult times. Please join us for on-line worship via Facebook live. If you do not know how to access the services, please send us a comment and we will do our best to assist you. May God continue to bless you and we pray for your health and safety during the coming days and weeks.

The Pleasant Gap UMC will NOT hold in person services this coming Sunday, November 22, as well as on Sunday, November 29. Both services will be broadcast on Facebook live at 9:30 AM and will then also be available for viewing on our Facebook page. ... We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this might cause anyone but this move is necessary out of an abundance of caution due to recently reported COVID-19 exposure to some of our parishioners who attend our in-person service. Please continue to be in prayer for all those affected as well as for everyone who has been or will be impacted by the ongoing health crisis. We are grateful to our health care and other front line workers and we continue to pray for your continued protection during these difficult times. Please join us for on-line worship via Facebook live, this coming Sunday, Nov. 22 at 9:30 AM. May God continue to bless you and we pray for your health and safety during the coming days and weeks.
