Continuing to make as much hay as possible - in case you were wondering what happens to those round bales that are wrapped separately or in the tubes across the road from the barn - they are good eating come winter! This video is from April - the hay and grains get sweet and the boys and girls in the lower barn sure seem to like it... listen to that happy chomping!

It’s June, which means it’s National Dairy Month! We are so fortunate to continue doing what we know and love, and grateful to remain part of the ever-diminishing dairy farm community. We are also grateful to the generations before us who started teaching us the tools of the trade, practically as soon as we were able to walk . Sadly, we don’t have enough fingers and toes to count how many family farms have ceased in Jefferson County since we moved here 30 years ago (10 yea...rs renting a farm in Summerville, and 21 years into our farm here in Reynoldsville), let alone at the state or national levels. Every day seems like a fight for survival these days, but we’ll continue that fight as long as we can! We raise our glasses (of milk, of course!) to say thank you to all our fellow dairy farmers, past, present, and future, for all your dedication and hard work!

Thanks to all who have come for meat this weekend! We are sold out of the Grilling Bundles (no more porterhouses or sirloins) and have one Cooking-In Bundle left! We still have plenty of ground beef (Holstein and Jersey), steaks (mostly Jersey, some Holstein), and roasts left by-the-pound though. If you’d like a large quantity, let us know and we’ll work with you on a price!

We got you covered for Memorial Day beef needs! Our lean ground beef is $3.50 a pound now, and we put a few bundles together that include some savings. We just got a Jersey butchered so if you’ve ever wanted to try it, now is your chance! Jersey meat is leaner than our Holstein beef, but what we’ve tried so far has been great (the bundles below are Jersey meat). We also have a limited supply of Holstein beef (ground beef, a few roasts, ribeyes, t-bones, and round steak...s). We also continue to take orders for half/whole beef. Pick up at our farm at 1430 Stevenson Hill Rd in Reynoldsville. Our dishwashing crew is getting extra help these days... they can accomplish many things if they all work together!

Only a few days left before Halloween! We have our pumpkin and gourd patch cleaned out - they are all PAY-WHAT-YOU-WANT! We also have cornstalks, straw, potatoes, and beef left. Hope to see you soon!

We can’t afford to pay our dishwashing staff, but we provide food and shelter, so they stick around.

The Fall colors are beautiful this year!

We landed on a name for our twins - Bryan and Anna! Since their mom is Bryanna, we thought it was a sweet way to incorporate her name. We had sooo many good suggestions though, and we’ll be using some of them for future babies!

Still time to get your Fall/Halloween decorations! We’ve started reducing the prices of our pumpkins and gourds, and produce is wrapping up for the season. We’ll probably be up and running for about 1 more week before we close up our roadside stand for the year. Also, still have some ground beef left!

We picked some more corn today! Limited quantity, first come first served. Still have lots of pumpkins and stalks, buckets of tomatoes for $3-5, ground beef, and other produce and Fall decorations. It’s a beautiful Fall day, so take a road trip and come on out!
