When we are on campus, Pre-K students take some responsibility for caring for their space, and by extension, the community around them. Here they are tidying up leaves from their playground and tarp.
Before we went virtual, students were building stick forts at recess together -- distantly! Each class took turns adding to a shared fort day by day. Respect for each other’s space and for nature is a foundational part of PMFS’s social-emotional curriculum.
Can anyone identify this little friend? A Kindergarten family discovered him while weeding on campus. Want to look for critters of your own? Sign up here for some outdoor Saturday projects: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0d49a9ae2ba7ffcf8-pmfs
Happy Thanksgiving, "from us to you"! Here are some of the things we're thankful for.
This is how you know it's officially Fall at PMFS!
Pre-K and K have been playing this game to learn about personal space. Children run around and dance in their hula hoops, then drop their hoops when the music stops. When they wave their arms, students should be far enough away from classmates that their hands can't touch.
Students are working together to design and paint a "sensory path" from the Little House to the Corson Lobby. The visual cues in their colorful paintings invite people to move creatively to their destination, like jumping from lily pad to lily pad!
Welcome to Linda Metzler, our new Development Coordinator! Linda's son graduated from PMFS in 2017, and we're so happy to have her back.
Taking rubbings of gravestones in the Meeting's cemetery is a great way to learn Plymouth history, family genealogies, and review math concepts.
Did you know that outdoor light stimulates the pineal gland, which keeps kids’ immune systems strong and makes them feel happier? We're spending as much time outside as we can in this beautiful weather!
We have lots of outdoor jobs to be done around campus if you're looking for a way to enjoy the Fall weather. Sign up and stop by any Saturday this month. (And thanks!) https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0d49a9ae2ba7ffcf8-pmfs
First and Second Graders are spelling out each other’s names with these fun PE warm-ups. Would you be out of breath after spelling your name?
First and Second Graders have been reading stories highlighting the beautiful variety of skin tones in the US and around the world. You can see this reflected in their self portraits and portraits of classmates.
