Seen today at Cherry Valley NWR: 9 Bald Eagles 37 Broadwinged hawks 1 Sharp shinned hawk... 2 red-shouldered hawks 4 American Kestrels 2 Osprey 2 Black Vultures Numerous Turkey Vultures and 32 Monarch Butterflies! Godspeed all on your respective journeys.

We'll have birdhouse kits available to build your own birdhouse at the Friends of Cherry Valley Spring Fling! Held on Sunday May 19th from 11am to 4pm! You can... also volunteer with the Pocono Avian Research Center for the third annual Bird Blitz any time between 6:30 am and 12 pm to learn about the changing bird populations as the refuge grows. Help record as many of the 140 bird species as you can that pass through Cherry Valley every year! Binoculars will be provided or you can always bring your own!
