RETAIL BUSINESS SPACE - KICKSTARTER Here is a golden opportunity for an entrepreneur who wishes to ease themselves into the local Milford market. A fully func...tioning business for over 20 years, the ARTery Gallery partnership has an 8 x 12 foot room within the gallery that will be available in June to launch your business, with minimal money and time requirement. Everything is already set up (credit card, phone, website, book keeping, tax prep, PR, with members dividing the work shifts, so your business can happen without your always being there. With our prime location in the Forest Hall building and display windows facing the street - there is no better situation for the right person and business to join the gallery and start your dream today. The prior occupant is leaving after 4 successful years to open their own shop - so we are confident this kick-start opportunity can work again for someone else. See more

The Columns Museum in Milford always puts on great events - don't miss this one. The newly restored Hiawatha Stagecoach will make it's debut on that day too.

The Milford Rose has been blooming all over town. It's fragrance is intoxicating and it's story is interesting. Originally grown in Grasse, France for the perfume industry and a favorite of Josephine Bonaparte. It made it's way to this country via French immigrants. One was gifted to Eliza Pinchot and she propagated it at her home on the corner of Broad and Harford in Milford. She would then gift them to others in the town and a tradition was started. This rose will not be found in catalogs because it must be gifted and not sold.

Hi Friends. Wanted to share a portrait that I recently finished. It is rewarding to work on a piece that is going to be very important to someone else. Fran had a very generous smile and stunning blue eyes. ~ Marie www.mliuart.com

For the last 3 months I worked on this 4x4' painting of The Great Council Tree of Walpack NJ. Thought to be over 450 years old and northern most boundary marker when NJ was divided in half in 1676. It was mature when this region was inhabited by the Lenape Indians. William Penn signed a treaty with the Indians to settle the lands for his City of Brotherly Love - Philadelphia, and further north, which is where the GC Tree stands. Penn's Quaker ideals of living in harmony an...d equality became the foundation of the US Constitution. Beasts and babies appear under the tree (loosely taken from the painting "Peaceable Kingdom" ) inspired by the Bible verse The wolf shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the young goat, and the calf and the lion and the fattened calf together: and a little child shall lead them. This enigma of a tree has stood strong through many changes and upheavals over the centuries. That and the Quaker ideals help give me inspiration during these trying and transformative times.
