At last night's Council meeting, Council approved Blessing Boxes to be installed at Town Hall Park and Steel City Park. Blessing Boxes have the theme "take wha...t you need, leave what you can". These boxes are accessible 24/7 and are based on the honor system. There is a Facebook group page called "Hellertown/Lower Saucon Blessing Boxes". Trick-or-Treat will take place in Lower Saucon Township and Hellertown on Saturday, October 31, 2020 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. NO RAIN DATE. Residents interested in participating are asked to keep their porch lights on during this two-hour period to ensure the safety of all those participating. Parents are advised to accompany their children as they go around the neighborhood and should check all candy and treats prior to children eating them. Take flashlights with fresh batteries for all children and their escorts. If your older children are going alone, plan and review the route that is acceptable to you. Agree on a specific time when they should return home.
