Meet Mildred McShane. Mildred joined the Polykote team in August 2019 as a Quality Control Lab Technician. Before joining Polykote Mildred spent most of her career at a metallurgy independent laboratory testing company where she held several ASTM and US PA Steel Certifications. Mildred is responsible for daily Quality Control tests and inspections to assure material being produced is within specification. In addition to working closely with production, she is also respon...sible for processing Certificates of Analysis and involved with trial runs for newly developed products. In the short time that Mildred has been with Polykote she has proven herself as a strong team member. Mildred's problem solving ability along with understanding of processes and procedures has allowed her to become relied on here at Polykote. When Mildred is not in the lab, you can most likely find her tending to her beautiful garden, trekking her easel into a field to paint landscapes, working on a home improvement project or trying to keep her two cats out of trouble.

Along with the equipment upgrades and excellent people, Polykote is also becoming more involved in industry organizations and participating at industry events. Polykote is a new member of AIMCAL. According to Nicholas Guzzo, Vice President, Now that we’ve attended our first technical conference we recognize how so many players in the industry, some of whom we have known for years, are strengthening their companies through this association. AIMCAL has provided a sense of being ‘plugged in’ with such a reputable and helpful group and we’re just getting started. Polykote now has 2.3 mil BOPP UV Ink Jet labelstock on the shelf, ready to slit & ship! This new semi-stock offering is produced with a permanent acrylic adhesive that complies with FDA CFR 175.105 for indirect food contact. The high gloss white facestock provides strong print adhesion and excellent print quality on UV ink jet presses. Meet Bill Ischinger. Bill is Polykote’s plant manager with responsibility for all coating, laminating and slitting operations. Bill started with the company in 1994 at Polykote’s original location, Warminster, PA. He has been a loyal employee for 25 years, transitioning with the facility to Easton, PA. Over the last 25 years, Bill has worked in almost every department at Polykote including slitting, coating and quality assurance. Bill has a customer-first mentality and a...lways finds a way to make-it-happen. He has a positive attitude, is truly a team player and coined the saying Polykote 4 Life. When not working, Bill is an avid Phillies and Eagles fan. He loves to travel with his wife to exotic locations as well spending time at his Jersey Shore beach house. Polykote has added equipment again! Polykote’s been busy adding additional capabilities to our 62 coater. In addition to the re-moisturization unit, we can now slit roll materials in-line. This enhanced slitting capability allows Polykote to eliminate the secondary slitting operation in over 50% of orders processed on the 62 coater. Label stock, laminates, tapes and tags can all be slit to width - fast and with a high level of accuracy. #coating #slitting #aimcal
