I wanted to let as many know about a new type of "virus" out there that needs your attention. It's actually known as "Ransomware" and the latest version can be devastating to all your files. It's transmitted through an email attachment, visiting malicious websites, using torrents, etc.. Once infected it will encrypt all your files with AES-256 encryption, including any attached USB drives along with network drives. You are then instructed to send $500-$1000 for the decrypt...ion key (people have had varying success once they send the money). However there is no current solution to decrypt the files without the key. I urge you all to use common sense in regards to websites, email, torrents (don't use them), etc.. I also highly suggest downloading and installing Malwarebytes Anti-Ransom application which will help you protect from this new form of malware.
