Introducing the new Proper Pocket! It’s kind of like a Hot Pocket, but delicious. More on that in a minute... Proper was conceived as a full service, sit-down restaurant. Wood-fired pizzas were at the center of the menu, but we offered so much more: fresh house-made pastas, quality seafood and steak, seasonal weekly features, a killer Sunday brunch. Takeout was never a part of our business model. Until March 2020, that is.... So we scrambled to scale down our menu to the items that could be efficiently prepared by our skeleton crew and would travel well from our restaurant to your house. We still miss the magic of a bustling kitchen and a packed house. And even though the PA mandate forbidding indoor dining expired yesterday, we’ve decided to stick with takeout only for a while longer. If we’ve learned anything about COVID, it’s that cases have spiked after every single U.S. holiday. Unfortunately we don’t expect the aftermath of Christmas/New Years to be any different. So in the interest of public health and employee safety, we’re going to sit this one out a little longer. But back to our new Proper Pocket! We have four different varieties consisting of our delectable pizza dough stuffed with quality fillings and served with a side of San Marzano marinara sauce. It’s hot and delicious and travels like a champ. You’ll find it, and our other menu items including wine, beer, and cocktails to go, on our website at properpittsburgh.com or on the Toast takeout app. We accept takeout orders every Tuesday-Saturday from 4-8:30pm.
