Monday was bitter sweet! We said goodbye for now to Selena! Selena kept Pure Wild Tea running while I was at school teaching! Without her help, who knows what journey PWT would have taken. We will miss her as she gets ready for the next phase of her life, motherhood! Beau and Selena made a great delivery team!

Field Trip to Pure Wild Tea! Students saw the machinery for processing, sampled all the teas, took a walk to the raised mint beds and finished by planting a mint plant to take home. It was a very busy day! By the number of hands raised because students enjoyed their sample of Pure Wild Tea, we will definitely have future customers!

Tea Drive thru June 13th 9-2! Come get your last cases of tea in glass. We are on a 2 year waiting list with two glass distributors. The following boxes can be ordered! Sharing Local Love Boxes will carry many significances this week! I am excited to share how these boxes will impact our community, so you might consider sponsoring one or part of a box! First, the Transition Academy Students at Hamburg Area High School will be putting the boxes together! These students learn essential job skills through community service projects like this. Then, the students will be delivering the boxes. They will practice using communication skills while pr...esenting sponsored boxes to reciepants. This positive social interaction will reinforce the act of talking to others. The Transition Academy works on giving back to the community and volunteering time, both of these skills will be reinforced! We want these students to be independent, so HASD works with these students weekly to get them ready. Unfortunately, Covid-19 has impacted the Transitional Academy program and the community opportunities were limited. This field trip on Friday, May 14 will be special because the students will have a chance to be out in the community again. Secondly, each sponsored box will impact a family providing them with fresh local products to make meals. Last, are the benefits small local businesses will receive. The products used in the box will positively affect a small business. Personally, I have an added interest in the sponsored boxes this week. My daughter will be one of the students who will benefit from the Spreading Local Love Box project! She will gain and have job skills reinforced through this project! She will also gain compassion for her community and learn to volunteer frequently. These are just some of the many skills she will learn! I am encouraging other local businesses and individuals to support the Spreading Local Love Boxes this week! Pure Wild Tea and J&S Pizza are supporting boxes! Organic Tangerine Roobius Tea! This one is dedicated to my late uncle, Richard Kunkle! I can remember my uncle telling me about how how poor his parents were, and how happy he was to get an orange in his stocking at Christmas! An orange was the ONLY present he got.
