Did you know that every Tuesday some of our most faithful friends show up at camp to help us? We call it Retired Tuesdays Our retired friends help us in a variety of ways. The men help us build new buildings and remodel old ones. These guys can fix or fabricate just about anything, they are awesome! The ladies help in the office with mailings and many other special projects that benefit the ministry and programs. Tuesday mornings at 10 you will find the men enjoying conve...rsations over coffee and pastries . If you venture into the office you will hear the joyful sounds of the ladies, they work hard and they are also always looking for an excuse to have a We thank God for our Retired Tuesday friends, there isn’t a corner of the camp that they have not impacted over the past 25 years. #retiredtuesdays #serveatcamp #pinevalleycamp

At camp we talk about what it means for men to have big hearts and strong arms. Big hearted men are men who grow in their love for God and grow in their love for others. Big hearted men are moved to action through godly compassion. We are grateful for godly men with big hearts. We also talk about strong arms, not the way that the world does, which focuses on power, conquest and dominance but rather strength under control, strength manifested in service, diligence and faithfulness. Take a minute and share your story below This week I had the privilege to be in Teen Camp! It was a great experience and my girls were even greater! I had a conversation with one of them in the pool one day. She was sharing how our lessons during Club (group bible study) were encouraging her to continue to not be... influenced by the world and be different. Even in her family she is seen as "weird" or different but she knows that's a good thing. I reminded her that we are called to be not of this world and the Lord honors that. Later that night she encouraged all the younger kids in Kids Camp during the Say-So Fire (all camp bonfire on the last night) to stay the course, not to be afraid and to be different because Jesus is worth it! - Miss Jay #campfire #staythecourse #godisgood

I'm thankful that I got the chance to come to Pine Valley and meet the amazing people that stay here. They have taught me so much God. When campers encounter the power of the gospel at camp, they often experience the freedom to share their deepest hurts and questions with their counselors and most importantly with their heavenly Father. Below is a letter to God from one of our campers this summer. Dear God, This is a letter of questions and thank you for everything you have done for me and my family. Why did my dad leave me and not come back? I don't understand. Was it for a good reason or was it a bad rea...son? Thank you, God, for all of my siblings because when I was hurt, he claimed I was not his daughter, I had my siblings and you. No matter what happens in my life I know I have my family and you. I am proud to call you my father in heaven. I know I'm not good at opening up but since camp I want to but I'm scared to say what I feel and I don't express my feelings because my mom taught me to hold my feelings. Did you dress up last weekend? Everyone likes a creative costume. Every summer we hire amazing young adults to help us creatively communicate biblical truths. Together we get to create games, skits, songs and dress up (like aliens for a game circa 2010) because fun builds a bridge to the heart of a kid. Fun is our bridge but Faith in Jesus Christ is our foundation for everything we do. In 2010 we talked about being not of this world see John 18:36 and 1John 2:15-17. Who is someone that has significantly impacted you? At Pine Valley Camp there is a sign hanging on the gazebo that says: Life is Relationship - Pappy Jack. When people read it they often ask who is Pappy Jack?. Pappy Jack is Mr Matt’s’ father. He lived by the motto life is relationship. He faithfully prioritized his relationship with God and that influenced how he loved everyone else. Jack loved his wife faithfully for 53 years, he faithfully loved and raised his four... sons, and he faithfully served his local church and community. Jack wasn’t perfect but he was faithful. Pappy Jack was there to help relaunch Pine Valley 25 years ago. He rallied volunteers, got scholarships for campers, helped care for the facilities and would drive campers to and from the camp every summer. Pine Valley would not be what it is today if it wasn’t for Pappy Jack living out his motto in response to God’s goodness in his life. The best of who Pappy Jack was is because of his fellowship with God and his commitment to reading and obeying God’s Word. A year before he died Jack gifted each of his sons with a copy of one of his study bibles. After a lifetime of studying God’s word each one of his sons got a bible with his notes, underlines and insights. What a gift! Who are the people you are listening to? Another shout out to all of the businesses that supported the Ride for Hope! With their sponsorships, an additional $8,800 was raised for the ministry of Pine Valley!

Thanks to all who came out yesterday to support Pine Valley's Ride for Hope at the New Castle Harley-Davidson dealership! It was an awesome day and camp was blessed! $7,200 raised! Almost 50 auction baskets. Even an appearance by Sam Childers, aka the machine gun preacher. 120 bikes (164 riders) rode out to the East Brady Overlook and back, then enjoyed a meal prepared by Muddy Creek BBQ and musical entertainment by the classic rock band Street Level. Thanks to everyone who made this day a success!

The word is that Sam Childers, the Machine Gun Preacher, is planning to join us on Saturday at the 7th Annual Ride for Hope motorcycle run

The 7th Annual Pine Valley Ride for Hope motorcycle ride is just 5 weeks away! Come do the ride! Come enjoy the meal and the music by classic rock band Street Level!
