Prior to the school shutdown in March, PV Power Packs averaged 150 bags of food sent home every week with our students experiencing food insecurity. In recent months, we have been distributing over 400 bags per week to supplement the food being provided by Food Services. This almost depleted our funds and left our program in a precarious position. I was happy to learn last week that Food Services has been granted the ability to be reimbursed by the federal government for all ...meals, including weekend food. This will allow Power Packs to pause food distribution and build up our reserves so we are prepared to meet what we expect to be the numerous needs of families this summer. Many of you have already answered my call for monetary donations and it is greatly appreciated and will allow us to continue our mission to make sure no student in the Perkiomen Valley goes hungry. PV Power Packs will continue to offer assistance such as clothes and shoes, school supplies, personal care items, holiday gifts, and winter coats to students in need. Our volunteers also deliver to families who do not have transportation to pick up the food being offered by the district. PV Power Packs has grown in ways I could have never envisioned and it’s community partners like you that have enabled this growth. Thank you for your continued support and I wish you all the happiest of holiday seasons. Warmly, Sarah Evans-Brockett
Last week, National Honor Society students from Perkiomen Valley High School earned volunteer hours by packing over 800 Power Packs bags. Thank you to these students and to the High School NHS group for partnering with Power Packs.
Previous to the mandatory shut down in March, PV South Elementary School had a dress down day to raise money for Power Packs. THANK YOU to all of the South staff who participated for your generous $202 donation. #PVstrong

Happy Tuesday! The boxes from the Share Food Program have arrived! The Food Services Department is made up of an amazing group of individuals who go above and beyond to make sure our students are fed.
Due to our move to a smaller space, we are no longer able to store personal care supplies, clothes, or books. Please DO NOT drop these items off for donation. We are only collecting food at this time. If a specific need for any other items arises, we will post on this page. Thank you for your continued support!
IT'S OFFICIAL! The US Department of Agriculture has extended FREE MEALS for the entire school year for all children under the age of 18! We appreciate the sup...port of students' health and academic success and we know the program is working here as we continue to build participation in our PV Drive Thru and Onsite Meal Services. Our district families are enjoying the convenience, quality and variety of our breakfasts, lunches and Packers' Bags and we're happy to continue to serve of our students!
It’s another great couple of days to pick up meals! Here are the times and locations: Today, Tuesday, 10/6 at the High School from 4PM to 6PM. Tomorrow, Wednesday, 10/7 at the High School and Schwenksville Elementary School from 9AM to 11AM. This is a sample of of the Shared Food Box - contents will vary and this is while supplies last. Please know that we ordered as much as we could because of your response last week. So, just pull into the bus loop at the High School or the back of Schwenksville Elementary School (see location change in our previous post) tell us how many children you have under the age of 18. Our staff is looking forward to seeing you!
Today is Custodial Appreciation Day and we need to send a big shout out to ALL of the custodians of Perkiomen Valley School District. We certainly couldn't make this program work without them and we appreciate them every day.
Power Packs is so pleased to partner with Perkiomen Valley Food Service Department to offer farm share boxes during the month of October to our Power Packs families. Families will receive a box of fresh food rather than the normal non-perishable bags we usually offer. This is what this week's box looked like. Boxes will be available on Tuesdays from 4-6 at the High School or Wednesdays from 9-11 at Schwenksville.
