PWHS Community Connections

Writing is an essential part of the curriculum here at Plymouth Whitemarsh High School, and we have our very own student-run writing center here to help students. The Writing Center consist of seniors who were selected to be in the Honor Writing Fellows course for their senior year english requirement. Throughout their four years here, students at PWHS are encouraged to take the Personal Finance class to learn about being smart with their money. In addition to the Financial class, students can work with Trumark Financial Credit Union and create their own bank account at the school. Trumark Financial has a student branch located at Cafe West, which allows students to deposit money into their accounts and learn smart ways to save money. During the fall semester of senior year, Emily Keller decided to take internship and spend her time at the Montgomery County Courthouse with Judge Kelly Wall. Judge Wall is a former PWHS student and was recently inducted into the PW Distinguished Graduate Organization in Spring 2015. The fan club for the PW Boys basketball team, the dog pound, have shirts for fans to wear during games and show their support. This year senior, Dylan Kevitch, created the design for the shirts that are sold at basketball games. This Thursday, February 4th is the final home game of the season for the team and fans can show their support by purchasing a shirt. Plymouth Whitemarsh senior Anna Guagliata has taken over as the business manager for the PWHS School Store. Anna has decided to become the student business manager in order to grow the store and help modernize it. Over the course of the next few months, Anna will work with school store advisors Ms. Labricciosa and Ms. Prager to take the store to a new level and turn it into a professional store for students to use.
