The weather forecast for the Borough of Quakertown and the surrounding areas for tomorrow morning into the afternoon hours is predicting 5 to 8 inches of snow a...long with very cold temperatures. The Borough of Quakertown Emergency Management is encouraging all residents, businesses, and visitors to use extreme caution and limit their outside activities. Please remain indoors unless it is an extreme emergency. We are encouraging all residents to stay safe and be prepared for the possibility of power outages by making sure your phones and other devices are charged and that you have an emergency kit with food, water, medication, battery powered lights, and pet supplies for at least twenty-four hours. Roadways may be extremely icy and if icy conditions occur, please limit travel to only emergencies. Pets should be brought into shelter and the use of open flame lighting is discouraged and battery-powered light sources are recommended in the event of a power outage. Customers can report electric outages or downed wires by calling 215-721-3520. All other emergencies requiring police or fire services should be summoned by calling 9-1-1. The following information is in regard to trash collection: Due to the inclement weather and delays throughout the week, the Sanitation Department was unable to pick up some of the recyclable trash in the center area of town. If your recyclables were not collected we are asking residents to please bring in their cans and place them back out on your regular scheduled trash day next week. Please keep in mind that during snow events, residents should expect delays as snow and ice can hamper the trash crews’ efforts. Please bear with us as we work to collect all trash within the boundaries of Quakertown in a timely manner. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you. Thank you and stay safe
