Reminder that our 6th Annual Santa Night is coming up on Saturday December 12th. Obviously it will be a little different this year but we are going to make it as special as ever. At oo:44 hours, QFD and mutual aid responded to a reported barn fire in the 100 block of Church Road in East Drumore Township. The initial call reported the barn on fire with animals inside. Refton FC Chief 59 was in the area and arrived with a skid-loader on fire just inside the barn. Engine 574 placed one line in service and quickly scaled back the incident to QFD units. The Company cleared in about 30 minutes.

Monday proved to be a fairly steady day for QFD Volunteers. The first call of the day was for a vehicle accident at Rt. 472 and Drywells Road in Eden Township at 7:59 am. Crews arrived to find a two-vehicle accident in the intersection with two injuries. The Company took care of hazard control while the QFD Fire Police directed traffic in the area. The second call of the day was for another accident less than 1/4 mile from the first in the 800 block of Kirkwood Pike in Cole...rain Township. Rescue 57 and Engine 572 arrived to a one-vehicle roll-over accident with several injured. The car was back on on four wheels in the field, so there was not much needed other than traffic control. During the second call, QFD Fire Police were requested to assist the PA State Police on a police incident in East Drumore Township. As of this posting (4:30 pm), the Fire Police, along with mutual aid from Refton and Rawlinsville were on scene conducting a large scale traffic detour and diversion. As you travel this evening, please avoid the area of Rt. 372 (Buck Road), West of Quarryville Borough. Also, please remember that the Fire Police are 100% volunteer and have been out in the driving rain since 11:30 am. Thanks to Tom Amico for the photos.

Sunday afternoon was "Christmas Light Day" at QFD. It took two days interrupted by fire calls, but it got done. Thanks to the members and friends that helped to decorate the outside of the station. Even though we are not having our normal "Santa Night" at the station this year, we still wanted it to look great.

At 2:50 pm Saturday, QFD responded to the 700 block of Robert Fulton Highway (Rt. 222) in East Drumore Township for a chimney fire. Units arrived with a large 2.5 story farmhouse with a working fire in the chimney. Crews went to work checking for extension and clearing the woodstove. Some minor extension was found on the second floor and was extinguished quickly. The Company was in service 1.5 hours.
