Prosecutors are obligated to ensure that they effectively and transparently serve the community, they advance policies that increase public safety, and that they treat both defendants and victims fairly. Kudos to FL State Attorneys Nelson and Warren on embracing that challenge.

The AG is right when he says we should have some protection for police officers acting in good faith. But qualified immunity as it stands today doesn't do that - it protects officers for gross negligence or even intentional misconduct. We need reform. https://bit.ly/2HmAunR

While we know there’s a big election coming up, it’s important for voters not to ignore their local races for #criminaljusticereform. Voters in #NoLa need to pay attention to the candidates for Criminal District Court, and know what they stand for. Lives will depend on it. https://bit.ly/34zwlFm

Passionate, pioneering, and persistent advocate for innocence Jim Dwyer has passed away. We are the worse for his absence, and we will miss him dearly. https://nyti.ms/30L3218

Errors in criminal justice are expensive for cities. Officer involved shootings, deaths in custody, and wrongful convictions cost tens of millions of dollars. Compare that cost with the cost of a Sentinel Event Review that helps prevent the next error. https://n.pr/3cs2XEo
