Today I emailed my Democratic State Reps and State Senators again. I asked them to continue to push Governor Wolf to allow 50% inside dining in restaurants. Th...e Republicans have supported this move. We need vocal Dems to get up and push the Governor to help small businesses survive. Here are the facts I shared today with my elected officials. All facts come from Health Departments and County/State reports from the past week: 1. 613 people across PA in hospitals with Covid. There are 37,000 hospital beds in PA. 2. Chester County Coroner announced they will stop weekly reporting as the death rate from Covid has been very low for over a month. 3. PA reported the lowest number of corona cases earlier this week in more than a month. 4. The seven day positivity rate for the State has declined from 4.6% to 4.1%. The metric to beat is 5%. We have succeeded. 5. The death rate is either at or below when counties entered the green phase and restaurants were able to operate at 50%. So if it was okay then, why not now? Yesterday thunderstorms, today thunderstorms, last week storms, floods and a Hurricane. We cannot depend on outside dining to sustain our industry. With masks, social distancing and proper sanitation we can operate our restaurants at 50% capacity.
