Congratulations to Roy Miller, Jr, recipient of the 2021 Marsden Scholarship awarded by the Roslyn Boys & Girls Club. We are proud of Roy, and we wish him all the best for a successful future. Roy Miller, Jr is the son of Roy and Kathy Miller. He is a graduate of Abington Senior High School and plans to attend Montgomery County Community College, then Temple University, with a major in accounting. For many years, Roy played baseball for Roslyn Boys & Girls Club. As a voluntee...r he assisted with the annual Jack Howarth baseball tournament for nine years, served as a referee for the club’s intramural basketball program, and helped with fundraisers to send the twelve-year-old team to Cooperstown. As a student he was a member of Future Business Leaders of America, a recipient of the President’s Award for Educational Excellence, and a member of the National Junior Honor Society. A community-minded individual, Roy credits his coaches with preparing him for his next phase of life, writing, Through the club I have learned how to work hard, be a leader, show compassion, have respect and integrity, and also to be a team player. Congratulations to Mark Troyer, recipient of Roslyn Boys & Girls Club's 2020 Service to Youth Award. Mark has been involved with our organization for many years, coaching our Legion baseball team and more, and is well-deserving of this recognition. OLD SHOE SOCCER GAME: Thursday, November 26, 2020, 9 am, Roslyn Park. Before you feast, come out on Thanksgiving to our "Old Shoe" Soccer Game. Coaches will play against current team members 14-years-old and younger. Following the game, the Service to Youth award will be presented at 10:30.
