Readers Workshop at Messiah University 03.07.2021

Messiah College takes the health and safety of its summer program participants, student workers, and faculty seriously. Due to the health risks associated with Covid-19, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 Readers Workshop. We regret that we will not be able to share this time with all of you this summer. Our Workshoppers are a special part of the Messiah community, and we have every intention of coming back, even stronger, for the 2021 Readers Workshop. I...f your teen would still like to take part in academic camps through Messiah College this summer, we are offering the Young Writers Workshop and Psychology Camp online. Both programs provide an enriching online experience, full of opportunities for connecting with other campers and faculty. Both camps are held during the week of June 21st. You can find more information about the Young Writers Workshop here: https://www.messiah.edu/homepage/965/young_writers_workshop You can find more information about Psychology Camp here: https://www.messiah.edu/info/21685/psychology_camp

We take the safety and health of our summer workshop attendees seriously and we are closely monitoring the situation with Covid-19. A decision about whether to cancel our in-person workshops will be made in the next few weeks, but for the moment we are moving ahead with the Readers Workshop scheduled on June 21st through June 25th. We are currently developing contingency plans to move some of the programs online so your students can have a creative and well-structured experie...nce this summer, even if meeting in-person is not feasible. If this occurs, we will adjust tuition appropriately. If you would prefer a refund, we will provide full refunds until June 1st. Please continue to visit the website for updated information. We will also send registered students updated information via e-mail as that information becomes available. Thank you for your understanding. We are working hard to ensure the 2020 Readers Workshop is successful, safe and exciting for your students, whether we are in-person, or online.

We are excited to announce that the Young Writers and Readers Workshops will have a talk with bestselling author Melissa F. Miller. She will discuss her writing process, run an activity, and hold a question and answer session for our students. --- USA Today bestselling author Melissa F. Miller is a former attorney who traded the practice of law for the art of telling stories. As a lawyer, she clerked for a federal judge; practiced in the offices of major international law fir...ms; and ran a two-person law firm with her lawyer husband. Now, powered by coffee, she writes crime fiction and homeschools her three children. When she's not writing, and sometimes when she is, she travels around the country in an RV with her husband, kids, cat, and dog. She is the author of more than two dozen bestselling legal thrillers, suspense thrillers, romantic comedic mysteries, and forensic thrillers. All her work shares two common threads: pulse-pounding, tightly plotted action and smart, unlikely heroines and heroes. To find out when Melissa releases a new book, visit www.melissafmiller.com and sign up for her email newsletter --- Registration is open! https://www.messiah.edu/readersworkshop
