Feels so strange. Since 1985 I have performed the Annual Father’s Day Concert of the Pops. Last year, our 50th Anniversary, was such an exciting time, with remembrances and special commemoratives. Who would have thought there wouldn’t be a 51st celebration this year? But COVID-19 certainly has changed 2020. As with almost every plan for this year, things changed, everything was canceled. We will be back and plan on creating more special events once it is safe. (We even have a ‘new’ component to celebrate Dads that will happen next year). So, Happy Father’s Day everyone and please enjoy some music today!

Master accordionist Julien Labro talks about the Reading Pops Orchestra Celebrates the Spirit of Django Reinhardt concert on Saturday, March 28, at the Miller Center for the Arts. Julien has written a special concerto for the concert that is dedicated to Jim Connors.
