I wrote this poem almost exactly two years ago and the smoking skies in the West made me think of it again yesterday. For your contemplation today: ~~~~ If tomorrow our sky is no longer blue........ what colour would the ocean then be? Would it mean that the sky had broken up with the earth and the elemental construct that is the very law of how everything works is irreparably shattered. Would we regret how we’ve behaved and treated our world? Would we unite as one in ceremony, calling and invoking all the medicine people to guide us in mourning the sky in hopes it would hear our cries and that our unanimous tears would evaporate and bring life back to the sky..... Would it return to blue? How long would we need to weep and wail to prove to the sky we are worthy of its beauty. See more

Inspired by my friend Francine, I’ve decided to try an old-school approach to communication, sending you love and inspiration. Taking my newsletter out of the land of the ethers and internet and right into your hands. If you’d like to be on my love list for a monthly letter, please DM me your mailing address and I’ll add you to the list. It’ll arrive on or around the Full Moon each month.

And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom. Life is a process of becoming, a combination of states we have to go through. Where people fail is that they wish to elect a state and remain in it. This is a kind of death. ~Anaïs Nin~... Photo by: @ashleydug Image by: @reallivingyoga

My last moments in India back in February were following the path of strange bread crumbs that led me to buying this rug for my practice nook. Something that my better judgement said I shouldn’t be affording after being off work for three weeks, but my intuition knew that I needed for some reason. A week after returning home, we entered quarantine and I have spent time here every day to breathe, sit, chant, write, and pray. I’m not saying you need a beautiful, soft rug to commit to any of that, I’d been doing it prior without this rug. But something that helps you land, and supports your desire to practice can be a wonderful tool.....be it a window, a plant, a photo of a place or person you love, a stone, a candle, a bowl of water, a spot of grass.....what draws you in and supports your softening deeper into yourself?
