This message still applies. Just change the date for the NOVEMBER general election (May was the primary election).

This is indicative of the current climate in Pittsburgh. Not so far in the past when there was (1) vehicles speeding (2) a rash of accidents (3) vehicles going around busses or speeding through school zones.... We would simply call our police zone or have our neighborhood group tell the community police representatives about what was going on in our neighborhood. Our government representative would have these professionals in uniform on motorcycles with lights and sirens called police officers sit in these areas and put lines on the streets and stop vehicles that were speeding because that is what we pay them to do. like magic, people started to slow down, accidents were reduced and our kids were safe again. This could and should be done immediately but no no no. Studies, meetings, speed humps, street cones, cut outs, traffic circles with stop signs , bike lanes and thousands of dollars worth of bureaucracy and experimental traffic theory in order to remove the gas powered motor from city streets and POW, our way of life has been altered because we asked for help.

Although this primary election did not turn out the way we wanted, I want to thank the people of Pittsburgh for their support throughout this campaign. There are still issues that this city will have to wake up and face each day, I will always fight to make our city better, and for the issues that we hold dear. Although I did not secure the Democratic nomination I am humbled by the support and am proud that our campaign played a significant role in delivering a new direction for the City of Pittsburgh. While I’ve received a lot of inquiries about what my future holds, I am hopeful to have an unexpected announcement in the coming weeks.
