Dear friends, family, clients, and consumers, I admit I too have great concern about the economy as well as my own finances. The health of my family, colleagues, and clients are far more important than lining my wallet and separating you from your money. However, the (PAR) Pennsylvania Association of REALTORS is IMHO, irresponsibly pushing for Agents to be essential during this Pandemic. (PAR) claims that we provide shelter, which we do, to qualified consumers that are NO...T in a state of homelessness as securely employed. If they were in a state of homelessness and/or unemployed, we would not be able to provide services as they wouldn’t qualify for financing. It’s a smokescreen riddled with Greed, and Selfishness. The (PAR) Pennsylvania Association of REALTORS has filed a lawsuit against Governor Wolf for listing us as not essential. I do not support making real estate essential in the State of PA during this Pandemic, I support saving lives. This is NOT conducive to flattening the curve. Pennsylvania is about to become another epicenter just like NY. New York has begun using Refrigerated trucks to store bodies due to the alarming amount of death and nowhere to put them. Need I say more. Let’s be smart about this. This is NOT fighting for agent safety, nor does this show any concern for the consumer, YOU. While i ride this State of Emergency out with the rest of you in solidarity, with patience, with care for your well being, I look forward to helping all of you rebuild your lives AFTER. Insight from a REALTOR If you’re selling your house and you have showings scheduled throughout the weekend, encourage your agent to let those showings go through before you except any offers. For example, it is really hard for teachers to schedule during the week to see a House. Houses right now sell quickly and how quickly they sell isn’t necessarily due to, us, the agent. It has more to do with the market needs. I encourage all of my clients to honor showings scheduled fo...r the weekend to allow for working class people who are hard pressed to make a weekday appointments happen. Whether my listings sell in 1 day to 2 weeks, I will do what’s best for my clients and that is wait for all offers throughout the current week cycle beginning Monday and ending Sunday. Who knows, quite possibly the highest bidder may be the bidder who can’t get in to see the listing before bidding is shut down. I won’t put my business achievements before my clients success. I just won’t.
