Again, little is known. This poor dog was quite old also. If you are sick, STAY AWAY from your pets also. You can possibly make them sick, as well as other people. Pets can NOT transmit this, but YOU can. RIP little guy

In regards to the new Coronavirus and our pets... still being studied. Possible human to animal (low-level transmission) so far, No evidence of animal to human so far. No evidence of animal to animal so far. This is all through physical close contact and not through ingesting studies. My advice, since this is still being studied... if you become ill, keep a safe distance from your pet, as you would anyone else. Limit physical contact for their safety. Prepare yourself AND y...our pet for quarantine (extra food and extra supply of any medications, if any). Be cautious of your pet being in public, as you would yourself or family right now, until the threat of exposure is minimal (approx. 2-8 weeks). It’s an uncertain time right now and I’ll be updating any future studies in regards to protecting our fur babies and feathered friends. * I am going to suggest that owners with young, sick or senior pets, be extra cautious due to the unknown right now. A gentleman in Wuhan , who contracted the COVID-19, did have a kitten who had suddenly died in his apartment, during the time his symptoms had peaked. So for now, be very cautious while studies are still being done and this virus is so new. * https://wsava.org//COVID-19_WSAVA-Advisory-Document-Mar-9-

In late February, Hong Kong authorities quarantined a dog after samples from the dog's nasal cavity and mouth tested "weak positive" for the virus. The dog’s ow...ner had tested positive for COVID-19. Currently, the dog has tested positive multiple times, but is not showing signs of illness. Authorities believe it is a case of human to animal transmission but stress that it is not cause for alarm. It's important to remember that viruses can sometimes infect a species but not cause illness in that species, nor become transmissible to others. Again, it is not believed that pets such as cats or dogs can pass COVID-19 to humans.
