Some of the common characteristics of codependency are: 1. Manipulating behavior 2. Controlling attitude 3. Difficulties with boundaries... Codependency is also normal behaviors just taken too far. It is a myth that codependency is something you can only have when you are in a relationship with an addict. Other people's issues do not cause codependency, people's beliefs of themselves do. Being able to recognize when you have taken things too far can make the difference in your codependent relationships. #CR #CelebrateRecovery #Codependency CelebrateRecovery.com

Those in recovery may know how it feels to be overwhelmed with things to fix or focus on. However, Jesus simplified the entire Old Testament rule book with two ...easy-to-remember commandments: Jesus replied, The most important commandment is this: ‘Listen, O Israel! The Lord our God is the one and only Lord. And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength.’ The second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ No other commandment is greater than these. Mark 12:29-31 NLT Let’s encourage each other today to grow our love for God and for the people God placed in our lives! #CR #CelebrateRecovery CelebrateRecovery.com

My name is Amanda, I am grateful believer in Jesus Christ, I struggle with the effects of past, verbal, emotional, physical abuse, as well as divorce, anxiety, ...CPTSD and depression. I am a survivor of Domestic Violence and childhood sexual abuse. As a child I was taught to be quiet and keep secrets. I lived years of my life in silence. Throughout my teen yrs I repeatedly experienced different forms of abuse by multiple people. I married at the age of 18 yrs old, months after giving birth to my 1st daughter. The marriage was abusive from the beginning. This was how I grew up and really believed this was how people treated each other. I was asked many times when's enough, enough? Are you safe? I didn't know how to answer these questions. 27 years of marriage, 6 children later and 11 years of attending weekly Celebrate Recovery meetings, enough was finally enough. I walked out of bondage and into freedom. I am fully embracing God's truth and promises in my life. I am fully trusting Him and believing He's got me. Every day is a new adventure for me, learning how to adult as a 40-ish year old woman has many challenges, but God has seen me through each and every one of them! I am learning to live with many Mental Health challenges CPTSD, depression, anxiety, fear and so many other effects that years of trauma have had on me. I am able to walk through the trials and struggles with God leading the way and have an amazing group of people who have loved me through it all. I am learning to understand feelings, what they mean and how to process through them. Guess what? Not all feelings are bad! They serve a purpose. I now GET to share not only my hurts, hang-ups and habits, I GET to share my experience, strength and HOPE! I GET to serve as the Ministry Leader at Rock Point Church Celebrate Recovery and as an Arizona State Rep. I'm so grateful for my life and my struggles. My life struggles have taught me that God is my strength, that He is trustworthy and that He restores. God promises in Joel 2:25 "I will repay you for the years the locusts have eaten." #CR #CelebrateRecovery #Testify CelebrateRecovery.com
