Monday's happenings at Recycle Bicycle
This is the first time this young man rode a 2 wheeler!!!
Marina is building a bike to help her get around. Volunteer Ron is there to guide her. Volunteer Ricky is tuning up this young man’s bike and he can’t wait to ride!
Miriah is getting into the nitty gritty of bike mechanics! Plus she gets a cool bike to ride!
Really?! Found this on an old bike today. It’s for anyone. We are open noon to 4 pm today. Ride safe!
Our own Ms. Pennsylvania Senior America, Nannette Swanson, stopped by today before the 2021 pageant. She makes our shop glitter! Thanks for all you do Nan!
Tune in today at NOON! A discussion on the Harrisburg Comprehensive Plan and its impact on pedestrians and bicyclists.
Inspiring story! Recycle Bicycle had a similar start, our founder Ross Willard began fixing kid's bikes in neighborhoods when he noticed their bikes did not have working brakes. He was focused on their safety. That was 20 years ago and we are still that, and so much more!
A virtual film festival!
A HUGH THANK YOU to Julio Enof for volunteering to prep the block wall in the doorway for the next step! (And teaching Jim a few things too) We last saw Julio at the Elder St shop 6+ years ago. Monday he showed to donate a couple bikes and revealed the fact he is a professional Mason. Since I (Jim) was blindly struggling with how to fill all the voids in the block wall and trying to imagine a kluge solution, I invited him to look.... First he said 'simple', then wrote out a shopping list for me to get and volunteered to get it done this week. Today he brought his tools and spent about 6 hours getting it all filled in and ready to fit a new door frame next week. I contributed by being the 'gofer'. THANK YOU JULIO!
The shop was busy tonight, as usual! Jim was continuing his wood work wizardry earlier.
Check out those amazing bicyclists. Great job! Happy New Year!
There are a few hours left in this year to donate! Did you know you can deduct up to $300 this year, even if you take a standard deduction!
We are off and running! Thanks for helping us out.
This was Recycle Bicycle last night. We all work together, learning how to fix bikes so we can help make kid's bikes safe ( Brakes, brakes, brakes!! ), people get to work and or enjoy the Green Belt and Riverfront as well as get around the city easily. Thank you volunteers ( we are 100% volunteer ) and donators of both bikes and financial support!
THANK YOU to everyone who helped us meet the $10,000 Match! Your support helps us to support the community.
Great to see P4P tonight! https://www.facebook.com/126154781338084/posts/665544064065817/

Pedals4peace is here picking up Christmas bikes & shopping for repair parts! 23 bikes on their way to York in their new team bus!
We got a call from the Ingram Micro warehouse last week saying we could pickup some damaged bikes. Dan & Pam picked up 91 bikes in boxes today! We got a HUGE help from our LDS missionary friends and got them all unloaded and put away this afternoon! A GREAT WAY TO START THE DAY!
