Chickpea stuffed sweet potato with Ginger Tahini drizzle! I love this entire recipe, but the tahini drizzle makes it. A perfect way to include tahini or sesame seeds in your diet if seed cycling! Enjoy with this recipe it on salads, spread on toast with fresh berries or drizzle over top veggie/Buddha bowls!... Tahini drizzle 2 tbsp Tahini 1 tsp 100% maple syrup 1/4 tsp fresh or dried ginger 2 tsp coconut or liquid aminos 1/2 tsp sesame oil Whisk ingredients together in a bowl and serve. Women’s hormones are complex to say the least! It is all about balance. However, women’s hormones are greatly influenced by diet, exercise, stress, toxic burden and sleep. Seed cycling is a way in which we can support our hormones and correct imbalances through eating specific seeds at specific times throughout our cycle. Whether you have a period or don’t, supporting your cycle with seed cycling can help!... The practice of seed cycling helps to promote the balance of estrogen (during our follicular phase) and progesterone (during our luteal phase) to help reduce symptoms of PMS, stimulate menstruation or boost fertility. Seed cycling can be used at any stage of a woman’s life including post-menopause. See the info graphic above to follow along: Days 1-14 (menstruation and follicular phase) include 1 tbsp each of ground flax and pepitas to help balance estrogen and build up uterine lining. Days 15-28 (ovulation and luteal phase) include 1 tbsp each sesame seeds and sunflower seed or sunflower seed butter and tahini to support progesterone If you don’t have a period, you can golpe the cycle of the moon: Days 1-14: new moon to full moon Days 15-28: full moon to new moon It might seem odd, but when our hormones are in balance, we should be menstruating with the new moon and ovulating with the full moon. Each moon cycle is 28 days just like the average menstruation cycle. Coincidence? I have been loving on melons lately! With this eat, melon has been quenching my thirst. This honeydew melon with mint and coconut water did not disappoint! Ingredients:... 1 cup melon, cut in cubes 1/2 cup Plain or coconut flavored Icelandic yogurt or coconut yogurt (I love @siggisdairy or @cocojune_organic ) 4 Oz coconut water 4-6 fresh mint leaves Add to blender with handful of ice and blend. Shaved Brussels sprout salad with shaved Parmesan and apple cider vinegar Dijon dressing. Super simple. Super delicious! You might want to add this one to your holiday dinner 1 lb Brussels sprouts... 1 tbsp Dijon mustard 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice 1 tbsp olive oil 1/4 tsp garlic powder Sea salt Fresh ground pepper 1/4 cup Parmesan or @violife_foods #dairyfree Parmesan Wash and dry Brussels sprouts. Holding stem, begin to thinly chop Brussels sprouts until you are about 1/2 from stem. Toss stem and places shaved sprouts in a medium bowl. Combine mustard, vinegar, lemon juice, oil and garlic powder in small bowl. Whisk together. Season with salt and pepper. Add to salad and mix well. Top with shredded Parmesan! Friday breakfast!! Using up those Instapot hard boiled eggs from our cooking demo on Wednesday. Topped over @simplekneads_gf #glutenfree pumpernickel bread, smashed avocado, smoked salmon, capers, red onion and a dash of everything but the bagel seasoning. Yeah..I’m going to be over here stuffing my face with this delicious breakfast..mindfully...obviously...Have a great day!! Instapot Hard Boiled Eggs 4-6 eggs... 1 cup water Add water to bottom of Instapot. Place Instapot at bottom. Evenly spread eggs on top of tray. Close lid. Set Instapot to high pressure and set timer for 4-8 minutes. Four minutes for egg to be less cooked and 8 minutes for yolk to be fully cooked. Meanwhile, prepare an ice bath in a medium bowl. Once eggs are done, allow steam to release and remove eggs immediately into ice bath for one minute. Eating for PCOS Blood sugar regulation, fiber and healthy fats are key if you have polycystic ovarian syndrome or PCOS. PCOS is a prime example of how our systems inform one another. Although there is a lot that’s not understand about this syndrome, we know that many women with PCOS also have insulin resistance which makes high levels of androgens worse and makes it hard to lose weight and get pregnant. . . Try including fiber, protein and healthy fats at each meal ... Aim for 30-40 grams of fiber daily Focus on slow burning and low glycemic carbs Eat organic animal proteins, but limit red meat since it can worsen estrogen dominance which often is connected to PCOS Focus on Omega 3s from walnuts and fatty fish to help with inflammation.
