Big congratulations to Samir! We feel like this is a pretty big deal in the Jiu Jitsu world. We have been a part of the Ares Bjj family for about three years now and we have had the chance to travel across the country, train with the best in the world, and make some truly amazing friends in those past few years. Please take the time out to say congratulations to Samir Chantre BJJ and if you like to learn from the man himself, he will be at Reflex Jiu Jitsu this coming Saturday at 11am. $100 Sunday Jiu Jitsu challenge! Today we put two of our students in the mat together for a cash challenge. 5 minute match with $100 on the line for the winner if the match is won by submission... $50 to the winner if won by points. Everything is legal except heel hooks since it’s a gi match. Let’s go!!

Hey guys... looks like we are going to have to cancel classes for today Monday February 22. Looks like the snow is gonna be pretty bad this morning so be safe and we will see you all tomorrow!... How about all this snow this year!

At three years old and three classes in Theadora is already taking backs and choking necks. Must have something to do with our fantastic kids program because most of our adult students can’t put me in there positions. To be fair, she is my daughter so maybe I gave her a slight head start.

We’re back! The gym is open, all classes are back on for both adults and kids. If you’re a member we can’t wait to see you back at the gym and if you’re not there’s no better time to become one! Let’s make 2021 our best year yet!

The COVID 19 virus that we have been experiencing this year has been a roller coaster ride of ups and downs, twists and turns, and a tricky balance between health and sanity. We are unfortunately making the decision to close the academy for a few weeks to ensure the safety of our members, instructors, and their families. We were informed this evening of a positive COVID test result from one of our members. We have personally spoke to all other members that had any contact wit...h this person. As of today, they are the only member to show symptoms or have a positive test result. The decision to close comes in an attempt to properly ensure the safety and health of all other members. This will allow time for any other symptoms to surface and allow adequate time for quarantine. As of now we will close immediately tomorrow Wednesday 12/9/20 and we will be tentatively reopening after the new year on Monday 1/4/21. Enjoy your holiday and be safe. Alright everyone! This weekend the one and only Jeff Reese will be conducting a free seminar at our academy. Saturday June 27th at 11am... Jeff wanted to teach out and teach some people across our region in honor of being able to reopen our academies and to thank all of you for supporting your local BJJ academy through the lockdown. If you love Jiu Jitsu... DO NOT MISS THIS. I can personally vouch that Jeff is one of the most knowledgeable and efficient Jiu Jitsu instructors and practitioners in the state of PA. I have known and trained with Jeff for well over 15 years now and he is the head black belt/ owner of Gracie NEPA in Olyphant. Trust me, you want to be here. See you Saturday!

Well, I’m so stoked about being open again that I have to do another post. This was our third adult class for the day. These are the students that trained hard before we closed, supported us through the shut down, and came back to the mats the first day we opened. I am beyond grateful for them and all of their support. These last two and a half months have been tough on us I’m not gonna lie. I realized that we are much tougher though. I think we as an academy will pull throu...gh this and I think we will because of these guys right here. In fact it’s because of all students that supported us through the shut down, adults, kids, and parents, whether they are in this photo or not. Thanks again guys.

First class in the books this morning! Man, It sure felt great to be back on the mats and training with my students. We all needed this. Thank you so much to those who came and got some training in. Your support is appreciated more than you will ever know.

IMPORTANT We will officially be open for business inside the academy Monday, June 1st! We cannot tell you how excited we are to get the doors back open and get inside the studio. I cannot say that I will miss the virtual class set up you see below.... It has been a very tough two months for us here at Reflex and I’m sure there are still some major struggles ahead. This is the first real sign of life though since we were forced closed two and a half months ago. We will rebuild though and persevere as we always have. All of our members have received an official reopening email with the details but if you have questions, please reach out to us here by comment or private message. We cannot wait to see you all again
