Each guest was greeted at registration with this mini envelope with a seeded card inside to plant in their garden. Each card was addressed with the guests name and their table number was added to guide them to their seat. I grabbed one that was left behind and i’ll share its progress as I begin the process by just letting the seeds sprout on the window sill after spraying with water! Creating a great mood board evolves from getting into my clients minds, relationship and aesthetic. Once I get a sense of their tastes, I love to spin aspects of their vibe into a presentation we can use as a jumping off point. We eliminate the extrenal design elements that don’t quite make the cut and bring in a few surprises just to make the day a little bit of a surprise, even for the couple working closely with us! Then we throw in some curated scents, perfectly selected ...music, special words, and a few small details to remind guests how special the event is. Somehow my mood boards are getting longer and longer as we think of more ideas based on the awesome resources we find out there! Blue champagne, vintage car rentals, bespoke invitations, even a scented candle maker who will make me any scented votive I want in white to blend in. THIS is what makes us different. We know stuff. I am not a big fan of DIY for your wedding day but there is a time and a place for projects. My feeling is if you can do it well in advance it is probably going to be fine because your not stressed. But if you wait to the last minute (escort cards, seating charts, live centerpieces) to do something and it’s an epic FAIL...then you’re stuck with it. . . . DIY Project that is easy, pretty, soft and trending! Ombré Gauze napkins are nothing more than 24x24 squares of cheese...cloth that you wash, dry amd shrink on purpose. Then rinse. While damp...dye the center, the hem area, or whatever pattern you desire and hang to dry. The ones pictured above just gave me a pink ombré napkin that easily knots for a loose look or you can iron it for simple fold and lay it on your plate with a sprig of rosemary or a fern leaf. Team Rel(EVENT) helping create another amazing wedding! You can’t tell from this photo but we were sweating buckets, directing traffic, getting bandaids, setting up over 90 bottles of ferns and flora (in the wind) along with 60 plus votives that kept blowing out, hanging out with Max the cool ring bearer, singing along with the #1 band @funkauthority and enjoying the team of @simplysmoothcatering and their beautiful food that also was amazing! Whenever you trust a floral designer, you should give them the opportunity to create, not duplicate. Give them inspirational photos to show them what you like, but also the WHY you love something in a boutique or arrangement. I have a worksheet I give couples that not only gives them basic direction on color, shape and design...but also asked them questions to get them thinking about why they like particular styles, florals, ribbons and greens. Liz and Anees called less than a month ago and needed someone to execute the most cultural, spiritual, symbolic and heartfelt wedding in her mom’s stunning home....and who was I to tell them they were crazy!? The best part is it was for over 250 people! 14 onsite and the rest got to watch and participate in the entire celebration (streamed and zoomed) the likes of which you would not believe....from all over the world! Dancing, laughter, stories, toasts and smiles all around ...the world! The amount of detail these two incorporated into their day was mindboggling!
