We are constantly making decisions. Some are quite ordinary, such as what clothes to wear or what to have for dinner, and others are more significant or life-changing, like what job to take or where to put down roots. When it comes to making decisions, our bodies are full of wisdom, and so taking the time to sit quietly and just check in with how the body feels can give us access to a level of information that we often overlook. Next time you’re having trouble with a decisio...n, big or small, give yourself a few minutes to sit quietly and check in with your body it’s a valuable resource. #somatichealing #mindfulness #bodytrust #therapy #therapistsofinstagram #therapistsofig #mentalhealth #selfcare #copingskill #copingskills #renewwellness #eastonpa #lehighvalley #lehighvalleypa #somaticexperiencing #listentoyourbody Mindfulness cards by @chroniclebooks

Do you identify as a perfectionist or as a person with perfectionistic traits? Many people write themselves off, believing they aren’t perfect enough to be a perfectionist, but perfectionism masquerades in many forms. . . . .... #mentalhealth #perfectionist #perfectionism #depression #anxiety #copingskills #selfhelp #selfcare #procrastination #stress #therapythoughts #therapistsofig #therapy #therapist #wellness #selfcompassion #renewwellness #eastonpa #onlyineaston #lehighvalley #mindful #mindfulness

Due to the strategic reopening of Pennsylvania during COVID-19, we wanted to inform you that Renew Wellness & Psychotherapy will still be holding sessions virtually for the foreseeable future, despite the current entry into the green phase. Due to the risks involved with droplet transmission during a 45-50 minute session (even masked) and the potential breach of confidentiality with contact tracing, we believe telehealth is the safest measure for everyone. This is a challengi...ng decision and please know it is one we do not take lightly. We are eager to reopen as soon as it is safe to do so, though we do not currently have a timeline. Thank you for your patience and understanding. Please do not hesitate to be in touch with any questions. We are so looking forward to seeing you face-to-face once again! #stopthespread #telehealth #mentalhealthmatters #psychotherapyatthesilk

As therapists, we often ask individuals to turn towards their pain -- their uncomfortable feelings. To approach their thoughts and emotions with curiosity and ask what they can learn about themselves. If you’re uncomfortable right now, breathe and feel it. Turn towards your pain, your guilt, your anger, your fear. Ask questions. Have conversations. Open yourself up to the perspectives’ of others. Take action in ways that are accessible to you. When we listen, we grow. For all... those who are hurting right now, we are holding space for your pain. As fellow humans we, too, are hurting. #blacklivesmatter first page: @motiankari poetry: @cleowade @ Renew Wellness & Psychotherapy

Today in Friday Fives (located in the story and Friday Fives Highlight Story), I’m addressing mindful movement. Let’s explore your history with exercise. How has it affected your body, your mood, your relationships? How you can engage with mindful or intuitive movement that feels enjoyable, engaging, & empowering? Movement should not be punishing -- it should be a practice which helps us feel present in our bodies and is fluid based on our needs that day. #mindful #mindfulness #mindfulmovement #coping #therapy #selfcare #recovery #edrecovery #healing #movement

We all want to be safe, healthy, and happy*. So even if it feels a bit self-indulgent (therapist note: though, hopefully it doesn’t!), reminding ourselves of this throughout the day is a lovely way to stay in touch with this basic desire. An easy way to do this is to repeat the phrases May I be well and May I be happy* to yourself. These words will cultivate a sense of self-care and can bring a feeling of warmth and kindness to even the coldest times. Try incorporating t...he phrases into your daily routine by repeating them to yourself each morning when you wake up, and each evening before you go to sleep. *It may be helpful to trade happy for content here. Do what feels right for you. This practice brought to you by Mindfulness Cards. #mindfulness #happy #affirmation #mantra #selfcare @ Renew Wellness & Psychotherapy

Take a few moments to reflect on fun, light hearted activities and memories from childhood. Where were you? Who were you with? Engage your senses. What do you smell, see, taste, hear, touch? Maybe these memories were at home, at a friend or family member’s house, at school, in a park, or on a walk. Re-engaging with these memories are helpful ways to cope and are most useful when you do so mindfully and with intent. Here are a few ideas to help spur your memory:... Build with Legos or blocks Do indoor or outdoor scavenger hunts Go for walks and lookfor types of birds Paint / watercolor Try something you always wanted to as a child, but weren’t able Play an instrument Do an old workbook Play with a dollhouse Play old board games Make a fort Do a hidden pictures puzzle Roll down a hill Watch an old show or cartoon Listen to a song from childhood Plan a picnic Record a skit or a funny video Write a poem Re-read a book you read when you were young Make a family recipe Do Mad Libs Draw with sidewalk chalk Put decals or decorations on windows Color pictures to post for delivery workers Leave flowers on neighbors doorstep Send notes Lay on the ground and look up through the trees Share your ideas! #coping #copingskills #childhoodmemories #therapy #mentalhealth #innerchildhealing #innerchild
