Van Wagner is one of Pennsylvania’s premier singer / songwriters. His songs and stories are born of life experiences that connect with those eras we hold most dearly as meaningful to our Renovo area heritage. Bring your lawn chairs and join us on the lawn next to our Heritage Park Museum for a vey entertaining time with Van Wagner! This event is free to the public. https://youtu.be/2O1PSbroXBo
We are deeply saddened by today’s news that John Eastlake has passed. He was a good friend to a lot of people in our area and around the state. Many of us knew him as a retired forester from Lycoming County who was passionate about his research of the Civilian Conservation Corps and enduring commitment to honoring the legacy of his CCC Boys whenever and wherever he could. This was our last outing. We went to see the improvements that were recently made at the S-127 CCC Camp display. It was quite a day.
Thanks for listening!

We, at Heritage Park wish all of you the happiest holiday season. Be safe, be happy and Merry Christmas. Thank you for your continued support throughout 2020.
This is a press release announcing a new program that we just launched. The following press release explains the project, how it came to be, and where we plan to go with it. As podcasts go, we think that it has promise. Suggestions from listeners and followers will help us improve the show. The Greater Renovo Area Heritage Park recently launched Renovo Through Time, a podcast about the history and heritage of Renovo, Pennsylvania. On November 29, 2020, Episode 1 - Time Be...fore Renovo went live on Buzzsprout.com, officially beginning a monthly series of stories, interviews, readings, and occasional musical ballads about the people and events that shaped the heritage of the Renovo area and our region. The podcast is located at http://renovothroughtime.buzzsprout.com and can also be followed on 13 podcast channels including Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Deezer, and Podcast Addict, to name a few. This project was funded by a Clinton County Tourism and Recreation grant. Guiding the design of two types of podcast projects is a focus on supporting the growth of heritage tourism in Clinton County. The grant made it possible to purchase the key pieces of equipment needed to record and produce quality tracks and clips for two types of podcasts - audio and video. Additional equipment for setting up a portable recording kit and training lab (nine IBM Laptops) that were generously donated by Ken Rhone. This aspect of the project is on hold until it is safe to resume meeting publicly. Involved in developing the podcast were Dave Barrows, Wayne Short, Charlie Barnum, Terry OLaughlin, Mary George Rhone, Amy Strong, Lou Bernard, Martha Sykes, and Rich Wykoff. The first episode is an introduction to the podcast and the early days of Renovos development. It includes readings from J. Milton Fureys writings about Renovo by Martha Sykes and Lou Bernards presentation about Young Womans Creeks Swamp Angel. This episode is sponsored by Endless Mountain Getaway, owned by Tracy Bruno. In episode 2, Martha will share Miss Margaret Bairds account of the Baird familys experience as Renovos earliest settlers. Lou is going to tell us about a monster that plagued settlers on Keating Mountain. Charlie Barnum will join the show to begin a series of short talks about Renovo and the Shops. Programming limitations brought on by COVID-19 have created the necessity of finding creative solutions for connecting with each other, members, and the community. This project came together using several online resources. Google Suite was especially useful. With this success in hand, Heritage Park is exploring other options for virtu'l projects. Virtual tours of Renovo and of the CCC camps in Clinton County are currently in development. For more information about these projects or our organization, call 570-484-7000, or email Rich Wykoff: [email protected].
Giving Tuesday is December 1st, 2020.
