This afternoon the National Guard, Reliance Hose Co. and others did a drive-by to show support to Dale Franquet and his family. Dale is the Corrections Officer... that was attacked and stabbed by an inmate at the Allenwood Federal Prison two weeks ago. Dale and his family are in the background. It is a blessing to see Dale and his family together, especially at this special time of the year. Dale still needs our prayers for continued healing. See more

Area police departments, emergency responders, and fire departments will be escorting Chief Jordan to Middleburg. The procession will be coming from the west side of town into the square where the flag arch will be assemble. We do not have an exact timeframe of when this is going to occur, but it is presumed to be in the 5:00PM - 7:00PM timeframe. Please pay your respects to Chief Jordan.

DH&L would like to thank all Mutual Aid Departments for there assistance last night on Kratzer rd in Penn Twp. First arriving Chief and crews were met with a we...ll off house fire. Home was later determined to be in the remodeling stage, so nobody was inside at the time. Crews from all departments worked for a period of time to get the fire under control. Main thing no injuries were reported! The Reliance Hose Company has finalized a new date with the Shade Mountain Golf Course for our 19th Annual Golf Tournament. The date is August 13, 2020. As previously mentioned, all tournament sponsorships and team registrations purchased, will be honored for the new date. Today, Saturday May 16, we mourned the loss of Mahlon E Arbogast, past Fire Chief for over 25 years. We appreciate his dedicated service he committed to our community. The Reliance Hose Company No. 1 extends our deepest condolences to the Arbogast family.

On Saturday at 11:00AM, the members of the Reliance Hose Company No. 1 are going to honor and pay our respects to Mahlon E. Arbogast, past Fire Chief for over 25 years. The fire department will be doing a procession commencing at Hummel’s Funeral Home to the Glendale Cemetery with an arch setup at our station. Thank you, Mahlon, for dedicated service to our department! We have the watch from here!

The Reliance Hose Company No. 1 and it's members are deeply saddened to announce the death of member and past Fire Chief Mahlon E. Arbogast. Mahlon was a member for close to 70 years and was classified as an honorary member. Mahlon's work not only as a member, but most importantly as Fire Chief, in which he served for over 25 years, has trained many of the members still active and raised the department to where it is today. He will be greatly missed by not only our department..., but the community he served with compassion. Mahlon, thank you for your service, dedication, devotion and sacrifice! The RHC Ladies Auxiliary has made the decision to cancel the festivities for Memorial Day, May 25. They regretfully make this decision, but with the current situation surrounding us, it is very hard to plan for this event. Sorry for the inconvenience and hope to see you next year.

The seafood supper is still on. We recommend that you follow the guidelines set by the CDC in terms of hand washing, etc. We ask that if you are experiencing any symptoms of illness or have been exposed to anyone who is ill, that you refrain from attending. We are taking extra measures to ensure the health and safety of all who attend.

As news starts to break about closures and cancellations due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19), we would like to clear confusion and stated that our Seafood Supper is still scheduled and being planned for Saturday for 5-7PM. We do suggest that you practice precautions for this virus as set forth by the CDC and other health organizations!

Whereas, recruitment and retention of qualified EMS providers has grown increasingly difficult throughout the commonwealth, and pursuant to its regulatory autho...rity outlined in 28 Pa. Code 1021.4(a), (c), and (f), the Department of Health Bureau of EMS is issuing the following regulatory exceptions to 28 Pa. Code 1023.21(e) as part of a larger strategy to re-engage EMS providers who have previously left our ranks. Individuals who wish to apply under this exception will need to submit a reinstatement application in the electronic EMS registry system. Individuals who need assistance with the application or with regaining access to their account, or who have questions or are interested in reinstating their EMS provider certification should contact their regional EMS Council for assistance. For those in the EMS West region, please email your name, certification number and level and the date your certification expired to [email protected] Individuals with specific questions related to the following exceptions should contact the Bureau of EMS.

Another evening of working along side people who give of themselves to help others. Working beside you all to accomplish the same goal. Things went very smoothly again with a fire that kept hiding in spaces. Everyone not only did their job, but they did it well without complaint and with true professionalism, pride and brotherhood. Thanks to you all, in the mutual aid responding companies. Even if it was standing by in case we needed you. Job well done by all. And as always as responders we know the families who are affected by their loss as we continue to think and help the community in support of getting them back on their feet and towards somewhat of a new normalcy.

Today, December 21, around 1300 hrs, Reliance Hose Company #1 was dispatched in Center Township for a Rescue Assignment/Farming Accident. Rescue 50 responded to the scene to assist the Penns Creek Fire Company. This incident took a great deal of teamwork and coordination. These calls take an extensive understanding and specialization of equipment.

Tonight, the Reliance Hose Company hosted several kids to meet with Santa and discuss their Christmas Lists and to tell the big man in red how good they were all year.

Tonight, 12 members trained and reviewed air bag and strut operations for the purpose of stabilization in many different scenarios.
