My go too patten for Crayfish. For trout, I fish these like anchor nymphs fished in tandem with a standard nymph typically in size 14-12. Then, I will strip it like a streamer at the end of the drift. A few twitches and then a pause. They smack it on the pause most of the time. For bass and panfish, I’ll cast and let it sink down quite a bit, and then twitch it. These are tied on @livelylegz 710 size 10, with a size 4.0mm Down and Dirty Tungsten Bead.... RECIPE: Hook: Lively Legz 710 size 10 Bead: 4.0mm Down & Dirty tungsten bead Thread: Uni-Thread 6/0 Dark Brown Tails: Brown Wooly Bugger Marabou Antenna: Grizzly Micro Legs Shellback: Turkey Tail Fibers Body: Hare’s Ear Plus Dubbing Ribbing: UTC Ultra Wire Size Small You can play with quite a few different color variations to get the look you want. Easy pattern. One note that I do is apply superglue gel on the top of the dubbing and pull the shell back over it. You can also use lead eyes on the hook and make the fly ride hook point up, also jig hooks are an option. You want this one in your box.

Fun weekend with my son tying a lot of flies. Crappy weather meant we were stick inside. Nothing better than teaching the next generation.
