Ridge Fire Company

This evening Volunteer Members staffed Engine 62-5 and Brush 62 to stand by for Norco Fire Company during their fireworks display. No calls for service requiring a response came in during the show. Ridge Fire Police were also on hand to assist with traffic control at the Norco Fire Co Fair this evening following the fireworks display. We wish everyone to have a happy and safe 4th of July weekend.

A clean car is a happy car! The OJR Field Hockey Team will be holding a car wash at the fire house this Saturday, June 19th from 9am - Noon!

After a busy day of calls the company rounded out the evening recognizing and celebrating the graduation of volunteer firefighter Jonah Kasznay from Owen J. Robert's High School. Jonah is the youngest of the three Kasznay siblings that volunteer at Ridge along side their father Doug Kasznay. Rescue 62 was in attendance at graduation cheering on the new graduates along with Traffic 62 and Fire Police providing traffic control support to the OJR Security Team. Congratulations to Jonah and to the entire Class of 2021. Have a Safe and Enjoyable Summer!

This evening Ridge fire apparatus and Volunteers lead the parade for the 2021 OJR Graduates of East Coventry and our response area of East Vincent Township as area residents lined the streets to cheer on the Seniors. Fun was had by all. Congratulations to the Class of 2021 of OJR and all area High Schools. Thank you to some if our members for grabbing some pictures along the way.

Good Evening! The Revolutionary War Memorial Ceremony at the East Coventry Twp. Cemetery on Ellis Woods Rd originally scheduled for 2pm, Sunday, May 30th has been cancelled due to recent heavy rain and the forecasted weather.

This evening Volunteer Firefighter Steve Pelna was sworn in as the new Fire Chief of the West Chester Borough Fire Department. Steve has a special connection with Ridge as he started his firefighting career 25 years ago at Ridge along side his father Siggy. We wish Steve the very best over the next 3 years and congratulations on your promotion to Department Chief!

It's Only a Test! Limerick Nuclear Generating Station will be performing a siren test on Monday, 12/7, at 2pm.

Happy Veteran's Day! Today is a day to pause and pay respect to all our veterans that have served our country with honor and heroism. Originally named Armistice Day to mark the ending of WWI on the 11th hour, of the 11th day, of the 11th month in 1918. On Sunday, Ridge Members and Apparatus participated in a drive by parade with many area fire and police depts, and local organizations to honor the veterans at the Southeastern, PA Veteran's Center in East Vincent Twp.

Today marks 1 year since the passing of President and Active Firefighter of 64 years Russell Kolb. A day doesn't go past that your presence isn't missed at the fire house. Thank you for always watching over us and protecting us over the past year and years to come.
